The role as Offshore Safety Technician will support the Master onboard and our HSE Regional Manager.

Key responsibilities:

  • Promote a safe and efficient work environment, in accordance with the Master's instructions, relevant legislation, and the Company's Safety Management System
  • Ensure that timeouts for safety and daily tool box talks are efficiently promoted and conducted together with implementing the lessons learned in the onboard routines
  • Knowledge of, adherence to, and implementation of the Company's policies with respect to health and safety, environment, quality, security, anti-corruption, fraud, smoking and drugs and alcohol
  • Ensure that crew are aware of their responsibilities and obligations as required by the Safety Management System
  • The Offshore Safety Technician when conducting his/her duties shall plan the vessel operation with vessel´s Master according to MSS management system, hereunder assure that equipment is operated only under due onboard risk assessment
  • Lead the crew, always promote the Company safety procedures leading by example and never compromise these procedures
  • Ensure compliance with legal and contract requirements
  • Engage in HSE inspections and support the vessels during client inspections
  • Ensure that safety observation cards are inserted in SMS system and properly managed
  • Timely manage client requirements
  • Actively participate in the accidents and incidents investigations process


Who we are looking for:
As a person, you have:

  • Graduated as a Safety Technician and it is registered in the Labor Regional Secretary – SRT
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a Safety Technician role, preferably in the offshore industry
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • You are energized and enjoy teamwork
  • Holds a result and detail oriented mindset
  • Basic training in the methodology of investigation of accidents Kelvin Top Set or similar will be considered a plus
  • CBSP and T-Huet Training
  • Fluent in verbal and writing communication in Portuguese and English is a must have for the position


Working conditions:

  • Applicants should have a Work Permit to work in Brazil
  • The role will be based onboard Maersk Supply Service vessels
