Senior Architect (Japanese Native Speaker/ JLPT N1 qualified)

We are now looking for a fulltime Senior Architect (Japanese Native Speaker / JLPT N1 qualified) with a technical focus to join Snohetta Asia. The position will be based in Hong Kong.

As a Senior Architect in Snøhetta, you will be welcomed into an open, flat-structured, and transdisciplinary team. Formal requirements and competence

  • Master’s degree in architecture
  • Around +9-10 years of professional, post-grad architecture experience
  • Strong design sensibility, talent and rigor
  • Efficient and productive
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Native in spoken and written Japanese / JLPT N1 qualified and proficiency in spoken and written English is required

Required competence:

  • Is a key project team member within the office focussing on design and technical resolution of our projects.
  • Strong understanding of later stage design process, design package production, detailing and specification.
  • Maintaining a detailed knowledge of up-to-date regulations and legislation applicable to architectural design and the practice’s professional output
  • Maintaining a detailed knowledge of best practice in construction and selection of materials as they relate to architectural design
  • Provide support to teams requiring assistance with technical design matters
  • Understanding of sustainable construction processes
  • Highly skilled Rhino, AutoCAD user, strong BIM and Revit skills required
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent digital presentation skills
  • Knowledge in environmental design tools such as Grasshopper, One-Click LCA, Ladybug and Honeybee preferable.
