Location: Snøhetta Australasia, Melbourne
Position: Full-time, permanent, in person.
Snøhetta Australasia is seeking a Finance and Administration Manager. In this role you will handle financial reporting and support decision-making in one of the most exciting architecture companies in the world. Snøhetta Australasia has just consolidated its two offices in Australia into one and is looking for a person to support the build-up of our operations.
To succeed in this role, you should be proactive, enjoy turning financial data into actionable insights, bring structure and control where needed, and drive improvement initiatives both independently and collaboratively. The role has an operational focus, and as a member of a small studio, the candidate must expect to handle various tasks small and large.
This position reports to the Managing Director. For all financial and accounting matters it also answers to the Group CFO. The position will work closely with the group finance team in Norway. Due to time differences, some flexibility in working hours will be required.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the financial reporting, including project revenue recognition, P&L, liquidity and forecasting, as well as other statutory and non-financial reporting
- Responsible for accounting, including coordination with the external accounting agency
- Responsible for invoicing, accruals, AP/AR etc.
- Coordinate payroll, including superannuation and leave accruals with the external accounting agency
- Responsible for the year end audit and the main point of contact to local auditors
- Responsible for budgeting process in collaboration with the Managing Director
- Monitor the company’s project portfolio and act as project controller
- Provide financial input to key proposals and negotiation processes with clients
- Responsible for supplier due diligence
- Responsible for the annual CO2 accounting report for the operations in Australia
- Support certification processes (e.g. ISO 9001)
- Ensure all global and local policies are adhered to
- Act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner for MD and project leaders
- Responsible for administrative tasks in the day-to-day running of the office
- Oversee internal purchases and suppliers, and administrative routines
- Support HR administration requirements of the office, including processes and procedures
- (Prepare and present analyses to management – depending on candidate)
- Support the MD on various tasks as required
- Responsible for the management of and training in Milient (Moment) software

Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in finance, accounting (Bachelor’s or higher).
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, business or project controlling, or similar roles.
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- Experience in Xero accounting software an advantage
- Experience with project-based operations is an advantage
